|As Sara and (user) sleep peacefully at camp, their sprite companion lies awake, distressed.|
|Lippy|| *sigh* |
[A ray of light shines behind him.]
|Leonne||Why the long face, Lippy?|
|Lippy||L-Leonne! My Goddess! Dear me, has something happened? A divine emergency?!|
|Leonne||Not at all. I was merely checking up on you, and noticed that you seemed to be troubled by something.|
|Lippy||My Goddess! I am... honored that you would concern yourself with my welfare. Truly, you see all and know all.|
|Leonne||I'm not omniscient, Lippy. I just noticed your ears were sagging. They always do that when you worry.|
|Lippy||Dear me, I had no idea! This is most embarrassing.|
|Leonne||It's fine, Lippy. Now tell me what's wrong.|
|Lippy|| The truth is, the harder our battles become, the more confidence I'm losing in my own magical powers. |
Am I even an asset to this party anymore? Even if I am, I doubt that I will be for long.
I need to become stronger to keep up with Sara and the Great Savior, but I'm not sure how.
|Leonne||In that case, I'd suggest you visit the Ainemo Forest.|
|Lippy||The Ainemo Forest? What would I find there?|
|Leonne|| There's a woman there who knows how to craft magical staves. I believe she could help you achieve what you seek. |
I could grant you some of my own power, but this is the sort of problem that one should strive to solve for oneself.
And I have every confidence that you will do exactly that, Lippy.
|Lippy||...And that was the guidance she bestowed upon me. What do you say, friends? Would you permit a brief detour to this Ainemo Forest?|
|Sara|| Okay, I see it here on the map... It's west of here, and not too far away. |
You think so, (user)? Well, I think so too! All right, Lippy, to the Ainemo Forest we go!
|Lippy|| I am most grateful. Now, please allow me to lead the way! |
I am most determined to prove that my spritely powers can still be of use—on this adventure at least.
|Sara||Yeesh, those last monsters were tough. We must be getting near the heart of the forest.|
|Lippy||According to my smartphon, Lady Sara, those monsters had an unusually strong energy signature.|
|Sara||What's this? Huh...I don't know what it is, but I feel strong power from it|
|？？？？||It's primordial amber. The treants of this ancient wood produce it in their den.|
|Sara||Oh! I didn't see you!|
|？？？？|| I sensed the disturbance within the forest, and came to investigate. Who are you? |
You don't seem to be harming the trees, but there is a strangeness about you...
What is your business here? Why have humans come to this forest?
|Lippy||We've come here to see you.|
|？？？？||Hmm? Human visitors are rare enough, but there's even a sprite among you?|
|Lippy||I trust you are an Ainemo elf? If you'd indulge me, I have a request to ask of you.|
|？？？？||A request? Very well. I shall hear it.|
|Risaora||My name is Risaora. It is a pleasure to meet you, Lippy. And you as well, Sara and (user).|
|Sara||The pleasure's all ours!|
|Risaora||From my conversation with Lippy, I gather that you need a powerful magic staff.|
|Lippy|| Due to her elven heritage, Lady Risaora knows a variety of magical arts, and particularly excels at crafting. |
Among the elves, Lady Risaora is in fact the elde—
|Risaora||Lippy! One doesn't say such things of a lady. Do watch your tongue.|
|Lippy||Dear me, what have I done! Forgive me, Lady Risaora! I meant only to convey that you were the most knowledgeable of all the elves!|
|Risaora||That will do.|
|Lippy||If you are truly able to create such staves, would you be willing to grant me one?|
|Risaora|| I can empathize with your plight. As our world is in danger, I am willing to help by crafting a staff for you. |
But you'll need to find the materials. You've already acquired the primordial amber...
But to create the staff I have in mind for you, I'll also need Water Sprite Telesma and Luminous Baubles.
They will not be easy to acquire. Are you willing to try?
|Lippy||I had already anticipated this danger. I am fully prepared to do everything necessary to be of service to the Great Savior!|
|Sara||You won't be doing it alone, Lippy. We'll be helping you every step of the way. That's what it means to be part of a team!|
|Lippy||It is a team I'm honored to be a part of. I thank you Lady Sara, and you especially, Great Savior.|
|Sara||All right! Let's do this!|
|Sara||This must be the Water Sprite Telesma Risaora wanted. Let's bring it on back!|
|Risaora|| I'm impressed. I hadn't expected you to return with that so soon. |
That is fine work, (user). Good work, Lippy. Nice job, Sara.
You're good adventurers. Very good adventurers.
[Risaora pats Sara and (user) on the head.]
|Sara|| Th-Thank you... Now you've got me blushing! Heh heh... |
(Psst, (user)! Risaora's kinda quirky, huh? Are all elves like this...?)
|Risaora|| And now it's your turn, Lippy. |
[Risaora strokes Lippy's fur.]
|Lippy|| ee-hee! Dear me, Lady Risaora! Please, I can't—not behind my ears! Please, not behind my ears! |
It's too ticklish, I can't—Aha ha! I can't—aha ha ha ha ha ha!
|Risaora||Ooh, how interesting. Right here? Is this the spot?|
|Lippy||Aha ha ha ha! Please milady! Aha ha ha! Stop! Please stop!|
|Sara||Um, Risaora? So, uh, where exactly can we find that next material? The bauble thing?|
|Risaora||Ah, of course. Forgive me. I couldn't help myself.|
|Lippy||Aha... ha... Thank you, Lady Sara. Thank you.|
|Risaora|| The next material is Luminous Baubles. |
here's a bit of a trick to acquiring that one, so I'll be accompanying you.
|Sara||Oh, okay, great! Heh... heh.|
|Sara||These ruins are from the era of ancient magic, right? The Luminous Baubles are—|
|Risaora||Shhh! He's coming!|
|Sara||Is that... a monster?!|
|Risaora||That's right. How have you been, Azoidy-poo?|
|Lippy||Its magical emanations have suddenly grown stronger! It's glaring intently at Risaora!|
|Risaora||Yes, Azoidy-poo and I are old rivals. I've come here in search of Luminous Baubles many times, and he always gives me a fight for them.|
|Lippy|| Do you mean that this monster is guarding the baubles? |
One must slay such a monster to claim a Luminous Bauble?
I understand! I will use all my might to best it!
|Risaora|| No, Lippy. We're not here to slay it. |
We just want to make it cry.
|Lippy||I... see. What's this now?|
|Risaora|| We make Azoidy-poo shed tears. When the light strikes them, they crystallize into Luminous Baubles. |
Azoidy-poo is a pretty tough guy, so he should be able to take five or six good shots to the head.
Striking his shins works sometimes too. It generally takes about 10 hits to the same one to get him bawling.
If you didn't bring a hammer, you can borrow one of mine. My bag is full of spares. Pick any one you like!
|Lippy||The monster appears to have become agitated at the sight of the hammers...|
|Risaora||I'm sure they bring back a lot of strong memories for him. Isn't that right, Azoidy-poo? Ah, we've had some good times, haven't we?|
|Lippy||He looks more traumatized than nostalgic...|
|Risaora||Those sorts of comments are not going to endear you to the ladies, Lippy.|
|Lippy||Y-Yes, of course. Forgive me, Lady Risaora.|
|Risaora||Very well then, let's cause some tears. Don't make this harder than it has to be, Azoidy-poo.|
|Lippy||Let us do what we must, then.|
|Sara||This is gonna be kind of an odd fight, I think, but... let's give it our all, (user)!|
|Lippy||He's running away while clutching his shin...|
|Risaora||That should be fine. Check the ground. There should be baubles around.|
|Sara||Like this one?|
|Risaora|| We've managed to collect quite a few. And quality-wise, they seem pure enough. |
I've fought Azoidy-poo countless times, but it's never gone so smoothly before. You're all quite skilled.
|Lippy|| After so many long years of rivalry, you must— |
|Risaora||Did you just say "so many long years," Lippy? I'm sure what you meant to say was, "after so many battles."|
|Lippy||I... Of course! I beg your forgiveness yet again, Lady Risaora!|
|Risaora|| Then I shall get started crafting your magic staff. I'll put something special into it, just for you Lippy, to make it extra cute. |
I'm sure that Sara and (user) will appreciate it as well.
|Lippy||These are some... unusual flourishes...|
|Risaora||Isn't it adorable? It makes you look like a little tiger.|
|Sara||Oh! It kind of does!|
|Risaora||Anytime you find more materials, feel free to pay me a visit. I'm always happy to make a staff for my little tiger.|
|Sara||Ha ha ha... ha... This Risaora certainly is a... special lady, right (user)?|
|Risaora||I do hope we'll meet again.|
